Dear honourable members,
Season’s greetings from the IOS Head Office. Hope this letter finds you in good health.
We are inviting applications for the following annual IOS awards. The applications should reach the Head Office on or before 20th Aug. 2011. Details will be available in article 38 of IOS constitution.
- Dr. J. G. Kannappan’s award for the best dissertation submitted in orthodontics in 2009.
- Dr. P. P. Jacob’s award for the best scientific paper published in the JIOS in 2010.
- Dr. George Jacob’s award for innovations in clinical orthodontics published in 2010.
- IOS research award for life members 2011 (3 nos.)
- IOS student research award 2011 (2 nos.)
- Dr. H. D. Merchant Award for original work in the field of Preventive Orthodontic Research 2011.
- Dr. Mrs. Savita Ramesh Vaid Memorial Award for the best performed study group 2010 (activities for the period of Sept. 2010 – Aug. 2011)
Prospective candidates are invited to send in their applications in the prescribed format given below. Along with the application form, the following documents are required as proof of the work done / publications made by the candidate.
- Application forms are available in the website www.iosweb.net/forms for category 1-6. Application for category 7 has to be done separately with all supporting documents.
- For award no. 1 listed above (dissertation) a letter may be submitted from the Guide / Co-guide / Head of the Department / Head of the College stating that the dissertation submitted is a bonafide work carried out by the candidate in the department, photocopies of the key articles (two to three articles) that may have formed the basis of the present study or may have had a significant bearing on the design of the present study along with a soft copy (CD) of the dissertation.
- For awards no. 2 & 3 listed above, the full reference of the article published and a copy of the published article and photocopies of any key articles (two to three articles) that may have formed the basis of the present study or may have had a significant bearing on the design of the present study may be submitted.
- For awards number 4 & 6 listed above, enough proof that the work has been done by the candidate, in the form of a letter from the authority on the letterhead where the work has been carried out stating that it is an original work carried out by the candidate, should be submitted. Photocopies of any key articles (two to three articles) that may have formed the basis of the present study or may have had a significant bearing on the design of the present study may be submitted.
- For award number 5 listed above, proof that the work has been done by the candidate, in the form of a letter from the Head of the Department / Head of the Institution, on the letterhead where the work has been carried out stating that it is an original work carried out by the candidate in the department / institution and photocopies of any key articles (two to three articles) that may have formed the basis of the present study or may have had a significant bearing on the design of the present study may be submitted.
- One recent passport size photograph of the candidate.
- Applications with all required documents should reach the IOS head office on or before 30th Sept. 2010.
